Egnyte and Dropbox Business both support external integrations with apps from Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. You can create new documents, spreadsheets or presentations from either of these productivity ecosystems directly in your Egnyte or Dropbox account. 

Each service has a dedicated app center or marketplace that supports connections to other business-focused apps. Egnyte supports connections to Zoom, Trello and Salesforce. Dropbox Business supports several apps, including Zoom, Slack and Notion.

Dropbox Business has excellent sync features that automatically update your data across your devices. You can opt to have new files available online only, or you can select the folders you want to sync with your account.

Egnyte has similar file sync features, letting you designate folders for offline access or capture changes that will upload when you close a file. Additionally, you can set up notifications if there are any sync issues, and administrators can allow users to connect local folders to their Egnyte accounts.

Egnyte and Dropbox both have robust admin consoles that give administrators and team managers customization and accessibility features to manage users and adjust settings. The admin console provides analytical data such as information on team members, connected devices and the overall storage used.

Sharing files with Egnyte or Dropbox offers a similar experience. Both make it easy to invite collaborators using an email address or share data by creating a link. Additional features include adding a password for an extra layer of protection or setting a link expiration date.

Egnyte keeps the cost of its three plans mostly out of public view. Its Business plan is the only one that’s listed, with a price of $20 per user per month. The Enterprise plan requires you to contact the sales department, as does the Enterprise Lite plan. Egnyte’s 15-day free trial will give you a better sense of the cost, as you can see the pricing breakdown once it’s activated.

Dropbox is more upfront with its pricing structure, offering four business-specific plans, including one for individuals. Similar to Egnyte’s plan, Dropbox’s Business plan costs $20 per user per month, and it has 9TB of shared space.

Egnyte’s level of customization is unmatched by other cloud competitors. You can configure nearly every part of the service to get what you need. The Dropbox admin console has plenty of settings and options, but it’s not as robust as Egnyte’s console.

Dropbox Business has a clean UI that’s easy to navigate, with a logical layout and workflow. It doesn’t look cluttered, and newer users won’t have trouble using the cloud storage. 

Egnyte offers a more compact user experience, and it’s more like a robust file explorer that displays lots of information on the screen. Navigating Egnyte’s interface isn’t difficult, but it’s not as smooth as Dropbox Business.
